During the present Covid restrictions, the boys of both Galston YFC 2009’s and Hurlford Athletic 2009’s have been unable to practise or play football. To keep themselves fit they decided to do a sponsored walk/jog/run. They ultimately walked/jogged/ran the equivalent of from Land’s End to John O’Groats and raised the fantastic sum of £1200. Several good causes benefitted from this, one of which was The Friendship Club at Galston who received £420. The Friendship Club, although unable to be held at the present time, would normally meet once per month and entertain those with dementia and their carers to an afternoon of music and song. In addition to the financial donations, each boy chose someone they think deserved a treat and the lucky folks were given an afternoon tea to enjoy in their homes.
Pictured with the cheque are Aiden Dick from Hurlford 2009’s and Jay Hultman from Galston 2009’s. Well done all the boys who participated.
