OUR Minister

The Reverend Kristina Cook MD
Rev. Kristina Cookl has come from the United States to serve Galston as Minister. She is the daughter of an Air Force Major and a German mother, has one brother, and is a lifelong Presbyterian.
After high school in Las Vegas, NV, Kristina graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and then became the Youth Director at First Presbyterian Church, in Redlands, California. In 1999 she was a Young Adult Volunteer with the PCUSA and served in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She served as a Youth Leader at Fitzroy Presbyterian Church under the Rev. Ken Newell and at Mornington Community Centre on the Ormeau Rd. While she was there, she felt the call to go into ministry.
Upon her return to the USA, she began to study at San Francisco Theological Seminary in Southern California. In 2005/2006, she returned to Northern Ireland for an Internship at Greenisland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jim Stothers. In 2007, Kristina graduated with her Masters of Divinity and was ordained into a position as a Hospice Chaplain with Pacific Hospice in San Bernardino, CA. From 2010 to 2012, she also served as the Pastor of Old World Community Church, a German Language church based in Huntington Beach, CA.
In 2013, she discerned a Call to return to the UK and Galston caught her eye and the rest, as they say, is history. She is very welcome here and is already proving a popular and motivated local minister. Kristina loves to read, sing, cook and bake, watch movies, travel, all things Disney, and to hang out with animals and their people.
